Volunteer: Volunteer Sports Coach Staff - Unified Sports Sampler (Special Olympics)Volunteer Sports Coach Contact: [email protected] Position Summary Set up and lead scheduled classes, practices, and games Support special events and sports activities as needed Attend coach and program meetings Communicate schedules and important updates to players and families Follow YMCA policies, safety guidelines, and emergency procedures Maintain and organize sports equipment Model good sportsmanship and support officials and program leadership Encourage teamwork, unity, and positive team culture RelationshipsReports to the Sports Director/Senior Sports Coordinator. Interacts regularly with YMCA staff, members, volunteers, youth, families, and community members from diverse backgrounds. QualificationsRequired Coaching or sports leadership experience (preferred 2+ years) Working knowledge of the designated sport Ability to complete online concussion training within 30 days Dependable, organized, and self-motivated Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills Interest in working with diverse youth and families Criminal background check - you will receive an invitation via email directly from Sterling to complete.
