| Volunteer: Widjiwagan Volunteer1. Volunteer Summary: You can make a big difference in YMCA Camping! You will help our staff maintain our high quality facilities, property and program areas for all to enjoy. You will assist our team with upkeep, improvement of program areas, while creating a positive environment of friendliness. This consists of excellent customer service by smiling at everyone you encounter and ensuring guests are having fun. It also includes being part of a positive atmosphere that promotes team member and program participant safety and satisfaction in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. 2. Volunteer General Responsibilities:Assist the Property team with facility, grounds and maintenance projects in flexible schedule basis on weekdays Engage other volunteers in meaningful projects throughout the year through fun and positive interactions Follow all procedures and policies of the department, branch and association 3. Volunteer Qualifications/Requirements:Minimum age of 18. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Volunteer application Criminal background check Signed code of conduct Completion of online New Volunteer Orientation (NVO) Prior experience with maintenance and grounds care preferred 4. Physical Demands:Ability to perform tasks outdoors in seasonal elements and conditions. Perform essential maintenance to facility or equipment which may involve, but not limited to the following activities: semi – reaching to full-reach overhead; crouching; kneeling; shoveling; working in narrow and/or confining spaces: underground, overhead, and at ground level; twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs; and lying on stomach and/or back. 5. Additional Notes: This volunteer opportunity represents the primary needs identified at this time but is not intended to be all-inclusive. The volunteer will also be responsible for taking direction from their supervisor or other designated YMCA team member.
