Volunteer: White Bear Area YMCA Advisory Board VolunteerThe Advisory Board is a group of dedicated volunteers who serve with Y leaders to sustain and grow our impact and meet community needs. The Advisory Board provides insight into their community and activates volunteers and resources at the YMCA of the North to address community needs. Community Advisory Boards are essential partners in advancing the Y’s mission. Their core goals include: • Listening to and understanding community needs, using both data and lived experience • Advising Y leaders on priorities, trends and opportunities within the community • Activating volunteers, relationships and resources to strengthen local impact • Developing and executing an annual chart of work that aligns community need with Y strategy • Supporting mission advancement, including annual campaign efforts • Serving as a bridge between the YMCA of the North and the communities we serve The Advisory Board year is September - June and will meet a minimum of 5 times per year. Volunteer Qualifications/Requirements: Minimum age of 16 2-year term commitment Dedicated to the YMCA of the North’s mission, vision and philosophy Ability to work collaboratively with other volunteers and YMCA team members Willingness to act as an advocate for the YMCA in the community Completion of New Board Member Orientation· Complete the volunteer application form annually · Complete mandatory volunteer training and background checks as appropriate · Contribute a financial gift Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Pledge The Y of the North is committed to the work and everyday practices of eliminating disparities and eradicating of unjust systems to become a multicultural, anti-racist and anti-oppressive organization.
