1.  Volunteer Summary: 

You can make a big difference in food security in the St. Croix Valley by volunteering at the High Tunnel Farm at Camp St. Croix! You will help our staff maintain the high tunnels, outdoor fields, and educational gardens. This volunteer opportunity also includes being part of a positive atmosphere that promotes team member and program participant safety and satisfaction in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Volunteers should come prepared with gloves, comfortable work clothing, and a water bottle.

Come cook pizza on the farm! During pizza nights, our pizza cooking volunteers are a key players in making these evenings as fun and memorable as they are! And it's really not hard once you get the hang of it!

You will be standing on a concrete pad in front of our wood fired pizza ovens, sliding 12'' pizzas on parbaked crusts in and out of the oven with a paddle, cooking them for 3-5 minutes next to the fire. They really don't stick to the paddles! You'll be using long, heat resistant gloves that protect your arms as well, so need to worry about heat. Once the pizza is cooked, you'll put it on the counter right in front of the oven where another volunteer will cut it. There will be four people in total working this station with you (two cookers, and two cutters). You can certainly trade places at any time. There are four volunteer spots open during this shift, so bring your friends!

Come cook pizza on the farm! At the Fall Harvest Fest, our pizza cooking volunteers are a key players in making this event as fun and memorable as it is! And it's really not hard once you get the hang of it!

You will be standing on a concrete pad in front of our wood fired pizza ovens, sliding 12'' pizzas on parbaked crusts in and out of the oven with a paddle, cooking them for 3-5 minutes next to the fire. They really don't stick to the paddles! You'll be using long, heat resistant gloves that protect your arms as well, so need to worry about heat. Once the pizza is cooked, you'll put it on the counter right in front of the oven where another volunteer will cut it. There will be four people in total working this station with you (two cookers, and two cutters). You can certainly trade places at any time. There are four volunteer shifts open during this time slot so bring your friends!

Volunteers need to be able to stand for two hours, lift arms above the waist, and twist.

Directions to the Farm at YMCA Camp St. Croix: turn in at the entrance that says "North Entrance" or "Daycroix" (345 Riverview Drive, Hudson, WI, 54016) and follow the driveway all the way down, curving to the left, and then left again. Drive all the way down to the big red dairy barn, and park behind the barn in the small gravel lot.**

**For some of the larger events that require more volunteers, there might not be room in the lot behind the barn, in which case you can park in the lawn where others are parking!

Camp St. Croix Board members will most likely be placed at a welcome table to collect donations, greet, and communicate information about the event!

1. Volunteer Summary:

This application allows the YMCA to do an abbreviated background check to screen for any history of domestic violence, violent behavior, and inappropriate behavior with children. This is required for safety and security reasons due to all the children using Camp St. Croix. This application is simply to accomplish HPA members to take a background check through the YMCA.
