The food truck comes around 11:30-12pm. We are provided with over 2,000 lbs of food.
The food is moved from the truck to outside. we will then take the food off the pallets and bring them inside. We try to do this quickly so that the the truck driver can take the pallets with him.
After all the food is taken in, we take the food out their boxes and set them up on the tables ready for us to serve.
We then invite our community to come sign in. we give out food according to family size. we bag up the food, weigh it and repeat.
Lastly, when the food shelf is over we clean up. we put away any left over food if we have some.
We have the volunteer job split into two parts
12:30am-2:30pm
-Set up the food distribution area
-Unloading pallets and bring food inside
-Unboxing and organizing the food
2:30pm-5:30pm
-Directing people where to go
-Bagging up food according to family size
-Weighing the food
-Bringing food to participants home
