The food truck delivers at 12pm. We are provided with over 2,000 lbs. of food.
First the food is moved from the truck to outside. Then we take the food off the pallets and bring it inside.
This must be done quickly so that the truck driver can take the pallets with him and so we are able to properly store refrigerated foods.
After all the food is taken in, we take the food out of the boxes and set it up on the tables to distribute.
Once set up is complete and all food is labeled with weight tags, we invite our community to participate in the food event. Food is distributed according to family size.
Lastly, when the food shelf is over, we clean up, putting away leftover food, vacuuming, wiping tables and other restoration needs.
We have the volunteer job split into two shifts.
12:00am-2:30pm
-keep food temp logs
-Set up the food distribution area
-Unloading pallets and bring food inside
-Unboxing and organizing the food
